Hi I'm Joshuah Wolfe

I live in the bush of Alaska and going on a mission to the Mexico Guadalajara East Mission I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Joshuah and I live in the bush of Alaska 70 miles above the Arctic Circle where me and my family are the only members of the church in our village. This is my third year in Alaska with my family and we have grown to love the people and I see it as one of the best missionary experiences I can have. Some of my favorite things to do is to go running as a family in hot or cold weather we always love to be out running. Another thing I come to love is mountaineering and rock climbing and not just individually but as a family. My father introduced the sport to us and over the years it has brought us closer as a family and taught me the importance of work and working hard. Also I have grown to have a great love for the outdoors and being out in the mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon is not just because I've grown up in the church my whole entire life but is having my own testimony in Jesus Christ. I have had been born of goodly parents just like Nephi said in the Book of Mormon, from what they have taught me through their actions and talking together as a family. My father always said that it always starts with the family and I am very certain that he is right because I have see of the truthfulness in my very own family. As I have grown up i the church I have come to love Christ through my own faith forge by the trials in my life. I still continue to struggle with the weakness I have and I continue to look to Christ to be my strength and guide in all things that I do. I get discouraged sometimes by my weakness and from Satan pulling me down in to the pit of disappear but I know that can always have my strength come from the Lord. I have a testimony of it and the Holy Ghost keeps testify to me and I may not listen everyday but I do my best and that is what the Lord requires of me. This is why I choose to be a Mormon, to follow Christ and to love him with all of my heart, might, mind, and strength. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good words, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16

How I live my faith

Everyday when I wake up I have to think of how me and my family are the only members in our little village of 500 people above the Arctic Circle. Almost all of the population is Inupiaq and being of the few that are not native to this place make it kind of hard to fit in. It makes me stick out like a sore thumb but there is something here that I didn't anticipate on. Most of the people in the village are Christian which makes things kind of easier and harder at the same time. They already have a knowledge of Christ but we as a family have to tell that we too have a faith in Him. That we too as being Mormons are also Christians and I think that after three years we have finally made a little impact on how we live our faith. Even being in school I have to watch myself constantly that I'm being the best disciple of Christ I can be through my actions. One of the things that my father has taught me that has had the biggest impact on how a act in public is that my actions speak louder than my words. So as I go through out my day and not do the things which I talk about I'm not just being true to myself but to the church, my family, and Heavenly Father and Christ. The greatest thing that I've come to is if you want to truly live faith it starts by doing it.
