Hi I'm Callista Schmidt

I grew up in Utah. I'm a student, photographer, and a cheer coach and I love what I do. I'm a mormon.

About Me

My name is Callista, but I go by Calli. I love to take photos of people and I love to coach cheer. I am a very social person, so I like to go out and do things with my family and friends. I really am interested in doing Hair School in the future. I attend college in Utah and am majoring in Photography. I love to watch movies and find new music. I have participated in Choir for the past 6 years and I absolutely love it. I also play the piano and guitar. I find many ways to serve others because it makes me happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was 8 years old. Ever since I was a baby, I've gone to church and been taught about this gospel. When it was time for me to be baptized, the decision was easy. I felt happy when I was at church, and I knew it was a good place to be. However, throughout my younger teenage years I didn't love going to church anymore. I rarely read my scriptures or prayed. I noticed that I felt lonely and sad a lot of the time. I was always finding the negative in my life. Then when I graduated high school, my sister had asked me if I was reading my scriptures. I replied honestly and told her I hadn't been. She bore her testimony to me about the power of them and ever since that day, I have read every day. Little did I know how much this would effect me. I started praying night and day, and my days suddenly became better. I saw how happy I was and how happy I was making others. I knew that it was because of the gospel. That was when I decided I wanted to take my knowledge and go and share with others. I am about to leave to serve a mission in Georgia, and I couldn't be more excited. I choose to stick with this gospel because it has brought miracles into my life. I have made better decisions, I know the purpose of why I am here. Life has a meaning because of the gospel. I know what eternal goals I want to accomplish and this is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My calling in my ward is a relief society visiting teaching supervisor. This means that I contact all the women in my district to follow up about their visiting teaching. I also help with ward activities. Last year I participated in my cities youth council and did service around the city. I go visiting teaching with my companion to get to know my girls I teach and to make new friends. I want them to feel loved. I try to serve as often as possible. Whether it's for my family, friends, or community, I try to make where I live a better place every day.
