Hi I'm Kody Mitchell

I grew up in Billings, Montana. I graduated High School and am about to head to the MTC. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was one of those kids that liked school, I was in rigorous math and science classes and Symphonic Band. I received a very nice scholarship from the college I will be enrolling in when I return from my mission. I love learning, I always found math easy, and science was very fun for me, but what I really enjoyed were the programming classes I took at my high school. Programming is one of my favorite hobbies now, along with playing video games and watching movies. My favorite video game is Portal 2, because it combines a difficult and unusual puzzle game with comedy and an intriguing narrative. I find programming to be fun, because it is like creating and solving many different puzzles and fitting them together to create something that actually has a purpose. In Symphonic Band at my high school, I played the French Horn, and I always thought that that was one of my favorite classes and that it was a perfect way to start out my day at high school. Except for Seminary of course. Music is very important to me and I find it to be one of my favorite artforms, because music can evoke emotions and tell a story, much like a talented artist could convey in a painting. While music is fantastic already, I think that when combined with a story and visuals, the outcome is something far greater than the sum of its parts. Which is why I enjoy series like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Dark Knight Trilogy, and Doctor Who just to name a few.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church, my parents were both members and they taught me right from wrong. I still follow the gospel, because it teaches only good values: Honesty, Charity, Service, Chastity, etc. Also, I know that the Church is the only way to be able to return to God and live with Him again. I know that this is the only Church that teaches the fullness of the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday, and currently I am waiting to report to the Missonary Training Center. I help the older male youth in their activities and duties, and I work at the Temple and help those who come there to do what they came to do.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Kody Mitchell
The Atonement is very complex, but to put it simply the Atonement makes it possible for us to repent of our sins and become clean so that we may return to our Heavenly Father. Jesus suffered in Gethsemane and died on the cross so that we would not have to suffer like he did and so that we could be resurrected like he was. Show more Show less
