Hi I'm Tyrus Willden

I'm from San Diego, California. I am SCUBA diver. I am an activist. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Like most people my age, I've spent a large part of my life as a student. I played high school basketball, participated in school leadership, went to dances, and hung out with friends. Learning and growing have always been a major part of my life physically, mentally, and spiritually. Growing up in California I came to be known as the Mormon kid to my peers. I was even unanimously nicknamed 'Brigham Young" by my teammates. This type of interaction made me realize I was an example. They looked up to me and my standards, sometimes in shock and sometimes in awe.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the spirit has testified to me the truth of the Book of Mormon and the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know this church is the restored Church of God because every time I prayed by myself in my room about it I've felt the warm confirmation of the spirit. I've been blessed with so many amazing opportunities in my life, and I simply want to share this truth with others. I know Christ lived and died for me. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through Christ. He strengthens me and empowers me to keep the commandments of God. I understand that Christ's sacrifice is infinite and redeeming. This knowledge gives me the will and the drive to do all I can to serve him by serving others. Through home teaching, youth callings, and scouting I've had the opportunities to show my faith by serving others and I look forward to more opportunities throughout my life.
