Hi I'm Halley

I am from Iowa and am currently going to school at Brigham Young University- Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Iowa most of my life. I am currently going to school at BYU-I. I am a communications major with an emphasis in public relations. I am currently working on my mission papers. I am a part of a blended family. My mom passed away when I was little and my dad remarried. I love my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Gospel is true. In high school, I was really struggling with my testimony, and I was really relying on my parents. However, when I went off to college, I realized that I couldn't rely on my parent's testimony anymore. I had to decide for myself if the church was true or not. I started this process by reading the Book of Mormon. I made it half was through First Nephi when the Holy Ghost hit me so strongly. I felt this huge wave of love and reassurance that what I'm doing is right.

How I live my faith

I am in a Young Single Adult ward in Idaho. I think it helps to go to church with friends and family because they are there to support you and to relate to what you're feeling. I am a compassionate coordinator assistant in my ward. It may not seem like a really calling, but it totally is. To explain it, it's like being a visiting teacher to all the women in my ward. I get notified of any women in the ward who are struggling, and I go and take them some treats and I just talk to them and let them know that they're not alone and that we are there to help and support them.
