Hi I'm Ray James

I was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I am an eagle scout and a twin.

About Me

I love playing video games and sports. Basketball is my favorite sport. I plan to serve a 2 year mission in the future to wherever I am called. After my mission I plan to go to school to study to become a physical therapist. I have always been interested in medicine but I did not want to be a doctor because it can be really hard on a family. Being a physical therapist you can make a positive difference in peoples lives. You can always see the improvement.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My parents were the first ones to join in both of their families. I went to church because it was what I was told to do. I didn't know for sure if it was true until I turned about 14 years old. At this time my responsibilities inside the church were growing and I was spending a lot of time doing church related things so I decided that I wanted to know if it was true because I didn't want to waste my time on things I didn't believe in. The next month I read the entire Book of Mormon in about 20 days. After I read the whole thing front to back I continued to pray for an answer if the church was true. Later that week I was walking alone in a forest and since it was peaceful I decided to kneel down again and ask the Lord if the church was true. I felt and overwhelming calm and peaceful feeling that let me know the church was true. Ever since then I have continued to faithfully serve in all my callings and attend every meeting I could.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by action. I make sure to attend every meeting possible and pay attention. I have been a home teacher for 6 years now. A home teacher is a man who is assigned to visit a family in the ward on a monthly basis they usually bring a lesson to share during this visit. I have also graduated seminary. Seminary is a church class where the youth of the ward meet usually at the church building before school starts to read scriptures and pray together. Seminary helps youth start their day right and helps build each others' testimonies.
