Hi I'm Richelle Van Komen

I have been called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Germany Frankfurt mission.

About Me

I'm a Mormon. I have lived in Utah my whole life and I am the oldest of 4 kids. I love dancing and being creative/artsy. I got a dance scholarship from UVU and danced on one of their modern dance teams for a semester. I love animals. I have two dogs and a cat and they are my best friends. My family are big BYU fans and we love going to BYU basketball and football games. Both my brothers play basketball and my sister and I dance. My family really loves Disney and we love going to Disneyland together. My mom is from Canada and we go up and visit her family usually every summer. My grandparents live on a farm up there and I love going and seeing all their animals. My dad's side of the family is really big and we all love getting together and doing crazy activities. My family is the best and I love spending time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon is because of how much happiness and blessings this gospel brings to my life and family. In our gospel, we believe families are eternal and can live together for eternity. I love my family and it is so comforting to know I can be with them eternally. I am also a Mormon because Mormons strive to be perfect. We are not perfect, but with the commandments and guidance of the Prophets, we have a path placed before us that we can follow to one day become are best, most perfect selves. I am a Mormon because the Savior willingly suffered and died for us so that we can repent and change our sinful ways. Our Savior is so merciful and kind and wants what is best for us and provides the a perfect way so that one day we can return to him. I know without doubt he loves us and knows our hearts and how to best help us to stay on the right path. If we are humble and turn to him, he will make our weaknesses into strengths and show us the right direction to follow. I love this gospel so much and I love being a Mormon and all the blessings this church brings into my life.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is going to church every week with my family and partaking of the sacrament. I love having the privilege of taking the sacrament because every week I am able to look back on my week and notice the good parts and the moments I could do better at and work on. I also live my faith by reading my scriptures every night and I love finding verses that teach me something or apply to what is going on in my life at the moment. If I find a scripture that really sticks out I love to look at the footnotes and research and find other scriptures and talks that relate to the same concepts. I love reading general conference talks and one of my favorite things is to print out a talk and highlight phrases and write in the margins what I learned from it. I also live my faith but looking out for the members in the ward and noticing who needs a little extra boost or lift and find some act of service I can do for them.
