Hi I'm McKenna

I am a traveler. I am a competitive fencer. And I am a Mormon

About Me

I love to learn and gain knowledge through observing the world around me. I am currently a college student preparing to serve a mission in Madagascar. I find joy in my family and in being in nature. My family and I spend time together by exploring and traveling the beautiful world God has given us to live in. I love music and enjoy playing the piano as well as, on occasion, singing. I am a competitive fencer and love to run. Exercising is the best way for me to relieve stress and I find that going for a run after a long day can help me recognize my blessings and be grateful for everything God has given me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Christ is the center of this church and the Book of Mormon is an additional testament of Him. I love it because it brings hope, peace, comfort , and safety to every person who embraces it. People go through trials and difficulties and search for something that is good; something that brings light into the darkness. This church is that light. If you feel lost or tired or broken, come unto Christ. He knows what you feel. He understands you and loves you perfectly.

How I live my faith

Serving as a ward missionary, I have tons of amazing opportunities to share my faith. I love teaching people about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and spread the joy that it brings. I am a strong believer in "living like you believe". Being an example and showing your faith through your everyday actions can bring comfort and light to those in need of hope and inspiration. I love to spend time in the community and serve in any way that I can. I am involved in committees that promote leadership and enthusiasm in learning environments.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

McKenna
As children of God, each of us has a purpose on the earth. We come here as unique individuals, unlike any other child of God. We were born with talents and characteristics that are given to help us fulfill our purpose. Given such attributes, we have distinct responsibilities and contributions we make. For example, only women have the divine ability to give birth. That is part of a woman's role on earth. Moreover, the ability for men to hold the Priesthood of God is part of the divine role they play in mortal life. The best part is that God gives us the talents we have and roles we play to accent and compliment our spiritual strengths. In addition, we all partake of the blessings of the priesthood; and enjoy the light it can bring to our lives when one who is worth to hold it exercises it in righteousness. Show more Show less
