Hi I'm Cathy

I am a convert of 21 years to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I am a mother, grandmother and great grandmother! I enjoy spending time with my husband and family; we like to be outside (gardening, fishing, camping). We currently live on a cattle and crop farm in a tiny little apartment; and delight in helping our friends with their farm chores daily. We are preparing to serve a 23 month mission for the church, and are super excited.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe in His doctrine; I believe the Bible and the Book of Mormon contain true teachings of the Savior; and because being a Mormon helps me to be a better person and realize my potential, to be the person that Jesus Christ has sent me here to be. I joined the church, with my husband, when we were in our early 40's. We were loved into the Church by the examples of our neighbors. They lived their religion every day of the week/month; not just on Sunday's for a few hours as we witnessed in previous church's we attended. The Mormon neighbors who helped us join the Church showed us what true happiness can be like. I have enjoyed tremendously growing my testimony of the church, of it's doctrines, of it's sacred ordinances; and being able to set a positive example to my children and grandchildren. My heart is filled beyond measure that my husband and I are married for time and all eternity, in the Lord's holy house. That we will always be together. I know that because Jesus Christ loves me, and wants the best for me, that I am able to love my husband and family with a new depth, that sometimes hurts because it is so intense. I know that I am not perfect, but have been sent to earth at this time to become perfected, so that I may return to live in the presence of God our Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Our community is very tiny, only about 100 people, who are mostly LDS. We attend gatherings as our schedule permits; but especially enjoy socializing with our neighbors at church and at dinners. I am currently teaching little 4 year old children about Jesus, which is both challenging and rewarding. They have a lot of love to give, and a lot of wiggles too! I have also served the teen-aged girls and women of our church.
