Hi I'm Kylee Tuckfield

I grew up in Sandy, Utah. I am a student at the University of Utah and want to be a doctor that invests in theatre. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love theatre. It is something I have always loved to do and that passion was taken to a whole new level during the amazing theatre classes I had during high school. Shakespeare is my second language and I learn as much as I can from the bard. I am currently a first year student at the University of Utah. I'm am planning to go to medical school after I complete my undergrad education. Nature is my second home. I hike as much of I can and when there is too much snow to hike I strap on some skis. I really want to learn how to paint. Sometimes, I'll see things and I'll think, "That would make a great painting." but I just haven't developed the skills to make that a reality. One day I hope I can. I hope I can accomplish all that I want. Hopefully I'll reach my full potential eventually.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this is the truth. It is not a stalwart truth that restricts people's lives but it is rather a place where I am able to open up to the miracles of heaven and become the best person that I can be. I know that I'm not a perfect person. I make mistakes like everyone else but it is through the truth of Christ's infinite sacrifice that I am able to work towards perfection. The bounds of justice can be loosened and the mercies of the Lord can help me through everyday of my life. In the words of Shakespeare, "In the course of Justice none of us should see salvation. We do pray for mercy..." (Merchant of Venice). How can anyone reach salvation without mercy? We need to know the way to ask for this mercy and let it come over us in completeness. That is what The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints provides. It provide the complete truth for salvation. The Bible set good guidelines to know what is right and what is wrong and how to act in the way of the Lord but after the death of Jesus and his disciples the scriptures held within the Bible were handled by men. Translations happened and interpretations were made in such a way that portions of the truth were lost. Our loving and powerful Heavenly Father knew this and provided a way that more scripture could come forth to be used with the Bible so that whatever truth may have been lost can be restored in its fullness. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter[Day-Saints gives its members a clear pathway to love everyone and live in the way that God would want us.

How I live my faith

Right now I am leaving my faith in my preparation for my mission. I just received my call and I'm going to the Indonesia Jakarta Mission. As I worry about preaching the gospel to the people of Indonesia I've been working to make my own faith in the principles and doctrines that I'll be teaching just that much stronger. I've begun to reread the Book of Mormon before I leave. This has helped to teach me to love everyone because that it what our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ do. I've learned of Christ's for me and if he loves me despite all my faults than why wouldn't he love the other people around me as well. I'm also a leader over visiting teaching in my church. This means that I'm in charge of making sure that all of the sister's in my area are looked after and cared for. It is our job to help spread the love and light of Christ by reaching out to those around us. We often are the answer to other people's prayers so we need to be able to listen to the spirit and follow through with helping people through their difficult times. If we do this we will be blessed in our times of need with the help of the people that surround us.
