Hi I'm Carrie

I’m a Mormon. I am a wife, mother of 5, grandmother of 13 and great grandmother to 1. I was a registered nurse for 30 years.

About Me

I am a Mom of 5 children. My oldest child is deaf so for many years I have been interested in and worked with issues important to helping people understand the deaf community. ALL of my children are wonderful! Proud Mom here! I was a registered nurse for 30 yearsm mainly working with children and premature infants. Intensive care nursery was my first love as a nurse. I loved to run! I ran 8 marathons and many other races (5k, 1/2 marathons, 10k’s). I love working with my church too. My husband and will shortly be leaving on a mission for our church. So exciting!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in another church. When I was a teenager I was introduced to the Mormon Church. At first I was very resistant to listening with an open heart. I didn’t want anyone to I know I was reading and learning about the church. I would take information I received into the bathroom with me so no one knew I was I was studying the information I was given. I read EVERYTHING! After much prayer and study I knew what I had to do! It was time to move forward and be baptized. The Missionaries teaching me had faith in me. I went to Youth Conference (a fun and inspirational conference for the youth of our church). A baptism was also being held that night. One young missionary followed me around, asking me if I knew the church was true and was ready to be baptized. It was kind of scary but I knew what I had to do! I was baptized that night and have never looked back! I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all my heart. It has made me a better wife, mother, grandmother AND a better human being as I have strived to follow the teachings of Christ.

How I live my faith

For the last year and a half I have worked with a church congregation dedicated to young people under 30 years of age. There are many challenges facing young people today. I enjoy helping them in any way I am able to. In the past I have worked with the children of the church by teaching and organizing activities for them. I have taught in the Women’s organization but working with the children of the church remains my first love.
