Hi I'm Livi

I grew up in Virginia. I’m a writer and food-lover. I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I am a YSA who is planning on going to culinary school when I get back off my mission. I want to travel and study food. I enjoy nature and love getting away from technology. Sarcasm is my second language. I love reading and writing and enjoy being by myself. There’s nothing I love more than spending a rainy day with a good book and a bowl of candy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because nowhere else is the entirety of truth found. The Book of Mormon and modern day prophets provide revelation and guidance for people in THIS day and age. I would feel lost, aimless, and very hopless about life. And it can get pretty depressing, but at the end of the day I know that God has everything in His hands and under control, and that brings me peace. It doesn’t cure my problems, but it gives me the strength to face them.

How I live my faith

I participate in church every week and go visit less active members on Sunday for ward missionary visits. I also attend Institute every Wednesday night to learn more about how to be a better missionary. I also play sports with other members of my ward once a week just for fun. I love hanging out with my ward members who have become my friends.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Livi
We are ordinary people. We need regular jobs, education, and relationships. We go to church on Sundays. But being Mormon isn’t just a Sunday thing. It’s a way of facing life with a different perspective and attitude. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ shows me how to be a better human being. We pray, read scriptures, and go to church to further our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Because this life is simply a test to see whether or not we will follow Jesus Christ. Nobody is perfect. Everybody makes mistakes. But we activly try to live in such a way that best allows us to strive to become like our Heavenly Father. And after all we can do, Christ will make up the difference. I am happier and have hope in my future despite this uncertain and scary world we live in because of the Book of Mormon and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
