Hi I'm Johnny Cantwell

I'm the oldest of six and love to draw. I love the Lord and strive to be like him! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of six (crazy) siblings. I've had to deal with their antics all across the country. I have lived in 9 different places due to my dad always changing jobs. He used to be in the Air National Guard and his dad was in the Navy during the Vietnam war. I might not want to join the military but I honor my family name by living the gospel and using my own talents to bring happiness to others. I'm an entertainer. I create stories to feed ones imagination. I love to illustrate such stories and create artwork for people that are feeling let down. One thing I have noticed though, is that I connect with those who would be considered outcasts and "weirdos." People that most everyone will try to ignore or wont invite. I'm the guy who will invite them to church activities and make sure they stay coming to church. I also love kids. I envy their innocence and being around them helps me take my mind on the hardships of life and how it can corrupt. They show me an optimistic point of view that I strive to keep. All this sounds good but I have flaws just like anyone else. I'm an introvert who's not to great with words. Words never come out of my mouth the way I want them to. It also takes a lot of courage for me to go and say "hi" to a total stranger. It has gotten so bad that I would rather sit at my computer all day watching anime and playing video games. I'm trying to get better. After all, that's why we are all here; to be tested, learn our flaws and become more like Him. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and was taught by my loving mother and father at a young age. Though it wasn't because of them that I stayed a Mormon (though that was a big factor). It was because I personally took the time to pray and ask if the things in the Book of Mormon are true. I was given my answer and pursued the chance to live with my family again. I gained my own testimony about the church, about Jesus Christ and about the living/past prophets. I was baptized at the age of eight on my own accord and the spirit confirmed to me that I was on the right path. I have made many mistakes in the past (hey, I'm human) and I have gone to the end of the Earth and back to make things right and repent. It's funny how people think repentance being an awful thing, but in fact, it is there to accept our Saviors sacrifice and to atone for our sins. I have grown to love everyone around me and I'd like to say I haven't met someone that I hate. I am grateful for the naturally loving heart that I was blessed with. I'm grateful for the gospel and all that Christ has done for me. I know without a shadow of a doubt that this is the true church and that this is the right path that I have been set on by my loving family and I am grateful for each of them. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that he did see our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I long to see them when my work on this Earth is over. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday despite working retail. Every Sunday I teach a Gospel Principles class to prepare for my mission. I am working towards my mission by studying the scriptures, and praying to our Heavenly Father everyday among other things. As of April 11th 2018 I will be in St. George Utah serving my fellow man and bringing others to Christ. I try to become more and more like Him everyday.
