Hi I'm Alauna

I grew up in Utah but moved to Idaho when I was 14. I am LDS and love the gospel.

About Me

I am currently 19 years old. I got my GED when I was 17 and immediately began working. I love reading and being outdoors. In January I was called to serve a LDS mission in California.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church and I've always had a testimony of Heavenly Father and His son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. While I always had a testimony and knew that this church is His true church upon the earth, I wasn't always sure it was for me; I didn't think I needed to be righteous or that I deserved His blessing. When I was 15 I stopped praying to my Father in Heaven and started to find ways to get out of going to church. I was lost. It took me years to realize that I wasn't happy and the only way I would be happy is if I started to rebuild my relationship with God and the best way to do that was to accept the gospel taught by the Mormon church I had been raised in. I am a Mormon and continue to follow his gospel because I have recognized God's love for me and because I have come to find joy when I feel His spirit and learn of his gospel. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ and I want to serve them and do my best to return and live with them again.

How I live my faith

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. I live my faith by following the teachings of Jesus Christ and by helping others come to know Him.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Alauna
We do believe that the Holy Bible is scripture and that it does testify of Christ. We believe the Book of Mormon is another testimony of Him and that it supports and exalts the Bible. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Alauna
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost." Mathew 28:19. Our purpose as missionaries is to bring others to Christ so that they feel His love for them and that they can be with Him again after death. The way to be with Him is through baptism and following Christ as his disciple. I personally became a missionary because I have felt God's love and have recognized Christ's atonement in my life and I wish to serve my Father in Heaven by helping others come to realize the fullness of the gospel.
