Hi I'm Maddy

I am a marathon runner, a photographer, a pianist, an 80's music fanatic, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Arizona, Mississippi, Idaho, Washington and am now attending college in Utah to study biology. I ran cross country in high school, however, I decided that a 5k wasn't nearly long enough of a race for me, so I ran my first full marathon in my first semester of college with a time of 3:23:55. I will certainly do that again someday, but I have first chosen to serve the Lord for the next 18 months of my life. I am very excited to be beginning this adventure of becoming an adult, and I know that devoting these precious years to serving the Lord will enrich my life more than anything else. I can't wait to see what lessons I have yet learn and where my life will take me!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my whole life, but I become more converted every day. I receive so much joy from living the Gospel. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me. Because He loves me, He sent His Son to die for me. Through this gift, my pain can become comfort, my despair can become hope, and my weakness can become strength. I have see this pattern manifest in my life. My testimony didn't come all at once, but I can see the difference this Gospel has made in my life when I take a moment to reflect on my experiences. The truth of the Gospel is my motivation AND reward. It grants me encouragement AND fulfillment. This Gospel means so much to me, which is why I love to share it with the people that mean so much to me.

How I live my faith

I love to attend church functions and participate in church activities. There is always someone to talk to and share ideas with. I love that we are not alone in this mortal journey; I certainly don't have all of the answers, but I know that I can learn from the experiences of others. It may seem like religion is a personal thing, -- and it is! -- but I am grateful to have weekly church services and gatherings that allow me to connect with other members who are facing different trials. The insight I can gain from listening to the experiences of others helps me set goals to improve myself.
