Hi I'm Brandon Stevenett

I grew up in Utah, I am a board certified surgical tech. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of two children. Born and raised in the lds church, and recently been called to serve as a full time missionary in Antofagasta Chile. I love music, and have been drumming since I was 8, and have taught myself to play the ukulele. I also love medicine and healthcare, and aspire to attend med school some day. While in high school, I took courses at SLCC and graduated from SLCC's Surgical Technology program - thus furthering my interest in healthcare.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have prayed, and studied the scriptures intently with one question in mind. Is it true? I had always been told the gospel was true, because it was what I grew up learning, but I wanted to find an answer for myself. After searching, pondering, and praying, I found that God's hand played a significant roll in my life, and I know that as long as I keep living the life he wants me to live, I will always be happy.

How I live my faith

I attend church each and every week, as well as go to the temple as much as possible. I teach a 9 year old class in Sunday school, and absolutely love it. It has helped me better prepare to serve a mission and get good at preparing lessons. I read my scriptures and have personal prayer each day. The reason I do all of this is because I love the feelings and the joy I receive when doing them. I know its true, and all the teachings of the church will help me live the happiest life possible.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Brandon Stevenett
The atonement is an essential part to the plan of salvation. Without it, none of us would be able to return to live with him again. Jesus Christ suffered and bled from every pore in the Garden of Gethsemane, atoning for our sins, so that when we do sin, we have the chance to get back on the right path and be cleansed of our sins through repentance.
