Hi I'm Deva

I grew up living in many types of states, but the country is what I prefer. I love helping kids; they are so sweet! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent High School graduate, graduating at the top of my class. I haven't started college yet, but have been dedicating a lot of time to save up money for college and to serve a mission. I am the oldest daughter of my family, hoping to set a good example to my siblings. I enjoy living a more western way of life and helping my family members with the chores that entail this way of life. I spend a lot of time trying to serve others, even if I may not be as helpful as I always wish I could be. I want to work with kids one day, maybe by being a counselor. I like to look for the good in things, even if I have days where it can be hard to do. To me, everyday is an opportunity to be better than you were yesterday. Little by little, great things are come to pass.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this gospel has been an influencing factor in my life from the day I was born. I grew up going to church each Sunday for most of my childhood; however, divorce caused me to be able to attend less and less. Every summer and Christmas break, with my dad, I'd go to church and let my faith be strengthened. As my mom pushed the gospel away, I drew nearer to it. Throughout the struggles we faced with her, I never doubted Heavenly Father was there; I knew He would never forsake me. I was NOT forgotten. My burdens became light as I trusted in Him and the light in me shone brighter and brighter. Being a leader, not a follower, was very tough some days; there were times I walked alone because of what I believed in, but just like always Heavenly Father was there and my Savior Jesus Christ carried my burdens with me. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know it is where my blessings come from. This is the true church restored on the Earth today. I am a child of God. Our Prophet is a true and living prophet of God, who is inspired to share revelations with us in these, the latter-days. Jesus Christ really did come and live and minister on the Earth. He taught with love and brought people to the truth; He died for you and me so we could return home to heaven above someday. The Holy Ghost is a true friend and comforter, He will testify to you the truthfulness of teachings, comfort you when you need comforting, and warn you when there is needs to be warned. I am so grateful for all of my many blessings. I leave these thoughts with you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by fulfilling the callings I receive in Church, loving one another as the Savior taught, and following Heavenly Father's commandments. I serve in the Primary as a Sunday school teacher; meaning, I teach a certain age group of children a lesson every week on a variety of different topics. Recently, we taught about Choosing the Right. To fulfill my calling and successfully teach these children, I brought them CTR rings and explained the importance of doing good things, making kind choices, living in a way that makes Heavenly Father happy, and always choosing the right. As a reminder everyday to make them choose the right, I told them to look to their ring and when they see it, make a good choice. Aside from fulfilling my calling in Primary, to live my faith I make an attempt each day to love every person I meet in a way the Savior would. I'm not always perfect at that, but putting my best effort forward each day shows Heavenly Father that I want to be faithful and live like He would want me to. Just like loving one another, it is important to me that I am following Heavenly Father's commandments every day. Even if I make a mistake, which I most honestly do, I repent and am forgiven of my sins; then I keep going and try following His commandments with as much exactness as I can.
