Hi I'm Marilyn

"I grew up on a farm in southern Utah. Married now with four daughters of my own and 8 grand kids. I'm a Mormon".

About Me

I'm the youngest o itf four siblings which I am the only girl. Being raised on a farm in a pretty rural area, I was able to experience a lot of freedom running around our land and riding my bike to see friends a mile or two away. Now I'm a mom and grandma. Love sharing nature with my family and seeing new things. I've had the opportunity to ride on the Olympic bobsled track. Loved it! Especially when I found out I got to ride it the second time.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always had a testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel. Been a member since I was eight years old and my belief grows stronger as I get older and experience more life experiences. I love the feelings of love I receive when I do the right things according to our beliefs. I love the peaceful feelings and inspiration I get when I am at the temple. And the best part of these feelings is I know it is just between me and my Heavenly Father. Having a granddaughter who is fighting cancer and has had a couple close calls with losing her, I am so grateful for the gospel and knowing that if this disease does pull her awayfrom us, there IS life after this! And we, as a Famly, can be together always. Just a short separation time until we would see each other again. What a blessing this knowledge is!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday but sometimes fail. But that's OK. Just try again to do better the next day. I really enjoy visiting people and checking out their needs. Mostly seeing those faces light up when We walk in the door, especially those that are home bound. Or a phone call to see how someone's day is going. It really brightens my day, as well. I'm not someone who enjoys cooking, and not the best at it, so visits and phone calls are what's best for me to serve others. Another thing I do enjoy is helping with funeral luncheons. It's a lot of work but so appreciated by those who have suffered a loss of a friend or family member. Just for them to have a place to meet after a long day of emotion ,to have a meal and visit with each other.
