Hi I'm Kassidy Barker

I am from Plain City, Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old. I love to play soccer, volleyball, guitar and piano. I love to do anything outdoors. I love art, specifically drawing. I got my associates degree from Snow College. I am currently a pediatric dental assistant.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family with parents who have faith in God and who live their lives according to the gospel standards the best that they can. I grew up knowing that I am a daughter of God and that I have a Heavenly Father who hears and answers my prayers. I know that I have a Savior who atoned for my sins and because of the atonement, I know that He knows exactly what I’m going through and exactly what I need before I ask for help. I am so grateful for the relationship that I have with my Father in Heaven. I have a testimony of Joseph Smith. I know that as a 14 year old boy, He had faith to ask our Father in Heaven what Church was true. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel and I am so grateful for that. I have a testimony of temples and I can’t wait to make those covenants one day & be sealed with my husband one day forever. I know that we have been given a plan. The plan of salvation allows us to return back with our Heavenly Father and Savior and that we can be with our families forever. I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon and the words that are written for us to gain that knowledge of our Savior and to come closer to Him. I have felt the spirit countless time throughout my life. I know this gospel is true and I am so grateful to have seen so many miracles and to have received so many blessings leading up to today. I am so excited to be able to serve a mission and to be able to share my testimony with so many others who are in need of the gospel in their lives.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel. It has brought so much happiness to my life. I just received my mission call to Yakima, Washington. Spanish speaking leaving May 9th. I have had many callings in my ward growing up and at my YSA ward while I was away at college. I strive everyday to live the commandments and to live my life in a way that I am growing closer to my Savior.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Kassidy Barker
We were sent to this earth to gain a body and to learn and grow closer to our Heavenly Father and Savior. We were given a plan and according to how we follow His plan we can return back to our Father in Heaven one day. Heavenly Father knew that we wouldn't and couldn't be perfect. He knew that we would fall short and make mistakes but because He loves us, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to suffer for our sins so that we could have the Atonement in our lives. Christ bled from every pore as he knelt in the Garden of Gethsemane. He felt the sins of the world. He felt all the pain and sufferings of His people so that he could know personally how each of us will feel throughout our lives. Because of the Atonement, Christ knows us each personally. He knows exactly what we go through and He has promised to be there for us throughout our entire lives if we allow Him to be a part of it all. Christ knew that the atonement was central to Gods plan for us and he went willingly. Though we may never be able to understand the pain that He went through, we know that He loves us so much that He was willing to go through that for us. We will never be alone because we have the Savior and our Father in Heaven with us. In order for us to truly use the Atonement in our lives, we must have faith in Christ, repent when we make mistakes, be baptized and confirmed a member of the church to receive the Holy Ghost, receive sacred ordinances and live our lives in a way that we become more like Him.
