Hi I'm Shelley

I live in Gilbert, Arizona. I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother! I love our Savior, Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have had a busy and rewarding life raising my family of 4 children and teaching elementary school. I am now blessed with 14 grandchildren! My children are grown and my husband and I are finding time to do some of the things we love like art and photography. The funny thing is that we still enjoy being with our family more than anything else!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As a young child I read the Book of Mormon and felt the truth of the words in my heart. As I have matured, I have had many experiences with other religions and people as I went to college, moved across the country and pondered how I wanted to live my life and raise my children. I always felt the Spirit of the Holy Ghost tell me that this is the gospel of Jesus Christ and I knew through my own prayers and study of the scriptures that it was how I wanted to live. It has been a blessing to see my children grow in faith as they felt the love of their Savior, Jesus Christ and pass that down to their own children. (Of course they have had to find their own way and it has not always been a straight road!) I have felt comfort as a concerned parent though my personal prayers and testimony of Heavenly Father's love for me.

How I live my faith

We are relatively new to Arizona, moving here 2 years ago to be by some of our children. It was great to have the opportunity to make new friends as we attended our church here. It made me feel more like a part of the community. I was asked to help teach music and singing to the little children in our church. I have a "less-than-wonderful" singing voice, but I love being with these little children every week. I wasn't sure I would like it since I was already teaching Second Grade all week long, but I have found that their sweet spirits actually help invigorate me and help me see why I have been teaching in the public school system.
