Hi I'm Tanner

I grew up in Utah county, Utah. I am a musician, composer, actor, and non-profit organizer; I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a musician specializing in jazz piano, organ, and composition. I love traveling and have been blessed to have visited and performed in 8 countries and all over the continental United States. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in Taichung, Taiwan which I could not be more excited for. In my free time I enjoy cooking, baking, hiking, rock climbing, reading, and building wrist watches. After my mission, I plan to pursue a PhD in music education and would like to become a professor and media composer.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Over the course of my lifetime, I have struggled through many trials, but I have always been blessed to be strengthened by His Divine Love. I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is True. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and restored the Gospel to the Earth. I believe in, and sustain our leaders and modern day Prophets, Seers, and Revelators. I know that this Church is true because I have had to fight for my beliefs, and in doing so have received confirmation through the Spirit that this Gospel is true. The Gospel and the scriptures that accompany it have brought peace into my life and have sustained me throughout my whole life. I am a Mormon because I love God, I have faith in Him, and I trust Him and His will whatsoever it maybe.

How I live my faith

I am currently attending the Saratoga Springs Young Single Adults ward in Lehi, Utah. There, I am the organist and music chair and love getting to be the home teacher of a few members in my ward. I choose musical numbers and hymns that are sung during sacrament services and play and arrange music to be performed on organ and piano.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We believe that the Bible is scripture. However, through many years and multiple translations, there have been plain and simple truths that have been lost to time. We believe that in addition to the Bible, The Book of Mormon was revealed as Another Testament of Jesus Christ, as a record of God's Dealings with the people of Ancient America. In addition to this, we have the Doctrine and Covenants, a collection of inspired revelations given to the Church through inspiration of Modern-Day Prophets. We also believe in a set of scripture known as the Pearl of Great Price, which is a selection of revelation, translations, and writings from the Prophet Joseph Smith. Through these scriptures, we believe that the fullness of the Gospel has been revealed and restored modernly, and with these, the plain and simple truths have again been found and established on Earth today.
