Hi I'm Leannah

I moved around a lot when growing up and I love reading, writing, and music. I am a Mormon

About Me

I want to be an author in the future. My favorite book genres are fantasy, adventure, and mystery. Most books I read are young adult books. I enjoy most music genres, but can be picky with the songs and artists I listen to. I love singing, although I do get nervous when in front of others. I also played the viola and was in pep band and marching band in high school. My dad is from the Philippines and although I don't know much about my heritage, I would love to learn more about their culture and traditions.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, but I have found it to be true by reading the Book of Mormon and praying about it. The comfort I feel when I pray for strength and the love and protection I feel when given a blessing also confirm to me the truth of the teachings. By going to church regularly and participating and reading the scriptures, my faith and testimony has grown little by little from when I was a child to now. I never really realized it until my first year of college and I didn't go as regularly and didn't read as often. I noticed that I felt down and not as motivated. I have also noticed that when we don't read the scriptures as a family we there is more contention between us. I didn't have a big ah ha moment where it was like "Yes this is the truth." I had smaller moments that were just gentle reminders and gentle nudges throughout my life. A talk might have been just what I needed to hear or like I said before consistently reading the scriptures and going to church providing comfort or teaching me something new even though I have read the same story before. It's the small, easy things that make a big difference and strengthened my conversion.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church regularly and serving in the nursery. I also participate in the ward choir. In the past I was the secretary of my youth group and also served as the president. I stand as a witness and example to the world by living the standards taught everyday.
