Hi I'm Shawn Benteti

I attend BYU Provo and am from Texas. I have been called to serve in the Thailand Bangkok mission speaking Thai. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student at BYU Provo intending on studying biochemistry. At this current moment I have a mission call to serve in the Thailand Bangkok Mission. I am excited to share my knowledge of the gospel with others. In high school I played football, basketball, and ran track and as such I love fitness. My goal in life is to be a husband and father first, then a respected surgeon in which I can use my desire for healing to help others feel better.

Why I am a Mormon

Like many I grew up as a Mormon. However, my father was inactive meaning he never attended church or discussed church topics. Later he removed himself from the church entirely. As a youth I realized that had the responsibility to my younger sister and mother to be the spiritual leader in the home. As a 12-16 year old I had great leaders and came to a knowledge myself that I knew the church was true and that Jesus Christ governs all that happens in it. I came to the truth that Joseph Smith restored the gospel and translated the Book of Mormon. I owe all that I am to the church and to the character that it has instilled in me and I am extremely grateful.

How I live my faith

Since I am a college student, most of my efforts in the church are to reach out to those who do not frequently attend meetings or may be struggling in any aspect of their life and may want or need help. My purpose as a person is to serve others by utilizing my talents and connection with the spirit.
