Hi I'm Olivia Black

I grew up in the US. I love traveling. I am serving in the Philippines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Brigham Young University college student, currently serving an LDS mission in the Philippines. I am a part of a military family which has allowed me to come in contact with many individuals with unique cultures and perspectives. I am an avid fan of yoga, music, books, comedy, and exploring the great outdoors!

Why I am a Mormon

As a child I was a Mormon because that is the religion that I was born into, the religion that my family practiced; however, as I have grown up and had my own experiences I have gained my own testimony that this is Christ's church and that following His teachings brings more peace and happiness than anything else can. I have had many opportunities to choose to stop following modern day prophets and to deny the truth that I have come to know concerning Heavenly Father's plan for us, but I have chosen to stay true to the gospel and to use Christ's atonement regularly in my life so as to remain on the correct path. Being a Mormon is my own personal choice, not a pressure placed on me by my family. I know the gospel is key to obtaining happiness and returning back to God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving those around me! I am putting my normal life on hold to spread the love of Jesus Christ by serving, teaching, and befriending the people of the Philippines for a year and a half.
