Hi I'm Matthew

I grew up in Cache Valley Utah. I am preparing to be a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy the arts. I play piano, bagpipes, violin, and I like to sing. I really like making things, and like painting, drawing and knitting. I love storytelling, and enjoy doing theatre, and acting. I also have a passion for writing, and like to write and read stories. I recently finished my first semester of college in Wildlife Ecology & Management.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to church with my family, who are Mormons as well. It wasn't until high school when I really started to know that it was true. I was waking up every morning at 5:00 am so I could go to my religious study class (called Early Morning Seminary). It was hard to get up every morning, but as I did, I slowly felt a love for my church grow inside me. I continued to pray about whether it was true. It didn't get any easier to wake up early, but as I prayed, I came to know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I also came to know Jesus Christ is the true son of God. I also developed a love for my religion, and learned to stand up for what I believe, even when others wouldn't, and even when it was hard or scary. I know even more surely now that I'm truly a child of Heavenly Father. I know that His Son, Jesus Christ came to earth and died for me, so I could live! I know that after I die, I can thank Him personally for His sacrifice. I can be forgiven of all my mistakes. These things are precious to me, and I know that they are true.

How I live my faith

I am the Secretary for the Sunday School presidency. Sunday School is a class we have every Sunday at our church. There are different teachers for different classes. Each class addresses different topics. The Sunday School presidency makes sure that everyone is getting a good, and worthwhile lesson each Sunday. We do this by doing a teacher training meeting each month.
