Hi I'm McKensie

I grew up in Utah. I love teaching and plan to be a teacher once I finish school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and am still living here currently. I grew up acting in musicals with my cousins and have had a love for theatre since then. I did marching band (specifically Color Guard) in high school and I really enjoyed that. I love performing! At that same time, I realized that I loved teaching and have been going to school to get my degree in Secondary Education, specifically United States history and behavioral sciences. After my first semester, I went to China for 5 months and taught English to kindergarteners. Once the culture shock wore off, I grew to love the people of China, their culture and Asia as a whole! I came home and decided to serve a mission to spread the word of God. I was called to serve in Asia speaking Mandarin Chinese and I am so excited! My love for teaching, this gospel, and the Asian culture were finally coming together and I could not be more excited to leave and serve for a period of my life! I love playing the piano, reading, and going on walks with my dogs.

Why I am a Mormon

This gospel brings me true happiness and peace. You simply cannot find the peace and joy the gospel brings in any worldly thing and I have come to learn that on my own. I know that God is real and that he cares about and loves me. I love to share this gospel with anyone who will listen because doing so also brings me happiness. There is no greater peace than that found at the temples, even just by being on the grounds of those holy houses. I know that this gospel is true and it is everlasting. I know that I will see my loved ones who have passed on again and it will be a joyous reunion. I know that God loves me and that he has a plan for me. I love this gospel and I love sharing it. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it holds the truth of this gospel and that this gospel is God's gospel. I love this church and the experiences it has allowed me to have throughout my life. I can't wait to see where it takes me next.

How I live my faith

When I was a young woman (ages 12-18), I was always in a calling of leadership over the girls in my same age group. I got to work with 3 other girls in similar positions to reach out to girls our age. We spent time talking with them, getting to know them, and planning weekly activities to get to know each other better, have fun, and come closer to God. I live my faith daily by reaching out to those in need and giving comfort to those who need it most. I also take personal time to read my scriptures and pray. These small and simple things give me the strength to go about my life every day knowing that God is there with me every moment.
