Hi I'm Tymara

I grew up in North Carolina, I love home & family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Tymara (Tim-era). I enjoy being outdoors and spending time with my family and friends. Most of my free time is spent either reading, hiking or fishing, taking pictures, or just hanging out by a fire. I'm from the south so I do have an accent (or so people say). I love the gospel and I am very grateful for the blessings it has brought to my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I read the book of Mormon and I prayed to my Heavenly Father to know if it was true (James 1:5-6; Moroni 10:4). I grew up in the church (my mother was a member, eventually my dad converted and was baptized) so for the longest time I thought I knew the church was true, when in reality I was living off of my parents testimony, I had not come to know for myself. When I was in high school I wanted to know for myself that the church was true. I was searching the scriptures and praying but I didn't feel like Heavenly Father was listening to me. I became very frustrated so I stopped. I stopped attending church, praying and reading my scriptures all together. It wasn't until after high school that I received my answer. I had an experience that made me realize that the opportunity to serve a mission, a temple marriage, and an eternal family was something that I truly wanted and desired but now I couldn't. The thought of not being worthy to attend the temple shattered my heart. I just cried and cried, I felt so alone. I felt unworthy to even pray to my Heavenly Father. I eventually opened up to my mother and she reminded me that I was a daughter of God and that he loved me no matter what all I had to do was go to him. So that following Sunday I talked to my branch president and confessed to him what happened, he helped me feel worthy again. I began attending church and all my church meetings and praying daily along with diligent scripture study. I finally gained my own personal testimony of the church. I am so grateful for the atonement and my Savior Jesus Christ. I eternally grateful that He loved us so much to give his own life that I may be forgiven of my sins so I can return to live with my Heavenly Father again. I have found peace in knowing that through the atonement my sins can be forgiven. I love this gospel. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am currently taking time off of school to serve a full time mission. I am so excited to be able to serve our Heavenly Father and his children. The Gospel has brought so much joy and peace into my life and I can't wait to share that joy with others.
