Hi I'm Elise Hansen

I've lived in Utah most of my life, but traveled a lot. I do what I can to get outside and be active!

About Me

One of my greatest passions is the outdoors. I love hiking, camping/backpacking, dirt biking, rock climbing, boating, swimming, snowboarding... etc. I played lacrosse and swam through high school, as well as started my photography. I've done a couple semesters of college including EMT training, I'm most likely going into the medical field. Making music and playing instruments is something I do a lot. I play piano, guitar, drums, ukulele, and I can play a couple other things as well. I also love art, painting, drawing, sculpting...etc. I'm always looking for ways to improve and make myself better, as well as helping others. I try to read a lot of self-help books, and I love to serve.

Why I am a Mormon

My family was always very active when I was growing up, so I would go to church because I had to, but I never wanted to. I just didn't have the desire. So at the beginning of my teenage years I took my own path and became mostly inactive. Life became really hard and I struggled a lot. This went on for a few years until finally I decided I was going to do whatever it took to make myself as happy as possible. I started fixing things in my life that weren't making me happy, but I still wasn't going to church. Eventually I got to a good spot in life where I was much happier, but I asked myself, "is this as happy as I can be?" That's when church came to mind and I decided to give it another try with an open mind and heart and the DESIRE to learn. It was then that I realized what I had been missing. This great plan of happiness had been right under my nose the entire time. I got completely immersed in the gospel and felt the true joy it brings. I was finally happy and finally new what I had to do. This gospel does incredible things for you as long as you do what it takes and have the desire. I'm go grateful to have been able to find my way to the truth.

How I live my faith

I haven't had a lot of opportunity to do work in my church since I was inactive for a few years. But I go to church every Sunday now and I've been called to serve in the Phoenix Arizona mission so that's my calling! Which I couldn't be more excited about. My greatest desire is to teach and Serve.
