Hi I'm Laura

I'm a wife, a mother, and a "Nana." I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Michigan with only a couple of other LDS kids in my high school. That made attending BYU very exciting for me. Besides getting a degree there in elementary education, it's also where I met and married my husband. He began his military career after we graduated and our adventures began! We have lived in Texas, Alabama, Germany, Oregon and Washington. Along the way we were blessed with five daughters which made for lots of wonderful, crazy, busy years. After my husband's retirement, we moved to Utah. Our five daughters are now married, and I love being Nana to our awesome grandkids!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an LDS home with very loving and devoted parents. They set an inspiring example of faith and commitment to God. I've always been so thankful for my pioneer ancestors who, when they found the gospel of Jesus Christ, embraced it. They not only sacrificed so much to have the fullness of the gospel in their lives, but they also passed on this legacy of faith to their posterity. Mostly, though, I am a Mormon today because of my testimony. I have had the confirming witness of the Spirit that Heavenly Father knows and loves me, that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer, and that he organized His church once again on the earth through His prophet Joseph Smith. I am grateful beyond measure for the amazing blessings of the gospel in my life, and to know that we can return home to our Heavenly Father and live forever with our families.

How I live my faith

I have been serving in Primary, the children's organization, in my stake/area. I have been able to visit different groups of children during their Sunday worship for the past few years. What has touched me the most is hearing these sweet children sing beautiful songs about their faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus. In a few weeks, my husband and I will be leaving for 18 months to serve as missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am thrilled for the opportunity that we will have to help others, and to share our faith and our love for Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
