Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a Mormon, I grew up in Utah and I love it.

About Me

I am a published science fiction and fantasy author, an avid blogger, a big sister, and now a sister missionary in Arizona! I love to be active in the mental and emotional health advocacy in my community. I also have lived with two adopted and special needs siblings from Ukraine. I'm a successful dyslexic and proud of my writing accomplishments despite the dyslexia. I believe that the Lord has given me a gift to write to bless the lives of everyone around me as I am brave enough to share the stories of our family's journey. I also am well known for my willingness to reach out and be a friend to anyone no matter what their life story may be. I have won the fight against learning challenges and gotten accepted into collage at a church school!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to learn of our Savior Jesus Christ for myself! How wonderfully amazing it is that we have a Savior who came to this earth to make it possible for us to become perfect and resurrected beings after this life! I am a Mormon because I know that our Heavenly Father also loves us with a deep and perfect love no matter what! Even though I have grown up and been raised in the church, I still had to make the choice for myself to accept the religion as my own. I can tell you that I am so glad I have taken the courage to ask of God for myself if this was where the truth was. Anyone can pray at any time and receive answers directly from our God himself. I know that I can feel a hug from heaven anytime or anywhere. My choice to enter into the waters of baptism at eight years old has set me on the path towards the incredible blessings of this gospel. I was able to witness the eternal sealing of my two adopted brothers into my family when I was also just eight years old in the temple. It is an incredible blessing to be an eternal family, for time and all eternity. In the depths of a struggle with recurring depression, I have found strength, peace, and lasting joy in combination with professional help and an amazing doctor who has helped me to find the right medications. I do believe that our God has led me even to the solutions in the medical world to help me to combat depression and get back on my feet. The struggle I have faced reminds me that I need the Savior in my life every single day!

How I live my faith

It's part of everything I do! I live my faith by choosing to become a missionary and share the light of my beliefs with the world! I am active in religion courses at school and I love to study the scriptures. As a collage student I served as a service coordinator in my Young Single Adult Ward (YSA). I was called to find the needs of our ward and help the bishop to plan ways to carry out service! I made beaded lizards to cheer up my fellow ward members and I often baked cookies with my roommates too! I attended the family home evening activity every week and made friends with everyone in our group who where all amazing people.
