Hi I'm Aidan

I was born in Utah, but my family moved around a lot. I really enjoy making things and reading really big books. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Sometimes I like to find the biggest fantasy novel I can get my hands on and then disappear for a day or two. I once camped out for a week for a special edition of a new Brandon Sanderson book. I used to be an avid Magic player, and I'm still really proud of my red-white Commander deck. I love playing D&D with my friends, and I enjoy drawing and making digital art. I also like to make foam armor--it's a lot of work, but seeing something awesome that you made yourself can be really rewarding.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in God. Right now it seems self-evident, but I remember being really afraid of losing people at one point. Now, I'm not--I know everybody will be able to see every one of their old friends or close family members again someday, no matter what. I'm a Mormon because I believe in a loving Father in heaven who would never leave his children without guidance. I really do believe that the Book of Mormon is scripture, the word of God to His kids -- and contains the same gospel as was taught by Jesus Christ nearly 2000 years ago. I'm Mormon because I have felt the joy and relief that comes with repentance, and because of the growth I have seen in my life through trying to live my faith. I love the gospel--and I want to give this happiness I feel to everybody.

How I live my faith

I want to do my best to do what's right, and to me that means trying to live like Jesus did. He was always serving those around Him, and he never stopped loving or caring about anybody. Lots of the time I fall short of that goal, but I know that no matter what, I can turn to my Savior and start over. I know that he will always love me and wants me to succeed, and so I want to show Him that I will follow His example. Sometimes that requires sacrifice--it can be hard to get up and go to church in the morning. It can be hard to give up something you love even when you know that it's just not the right thing for you--but I know each of us can get help with whatever we're facing from our loving Heavenly Father and from His Son, Jesus Christ.

Where did Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin?

It's the same gospel from Adam to now. We preach faith on Jesus Christ and repentance, just like Peter or Paul. Joseph Smith was someone called to restore the full truth of the gospel after people went astray, just like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Noah, or any number of prophets throughout history. Show more Show less
