Hi I'm Ken

I'm a journalism student, however, I've deferred school to serve a mission in Puebla, Mexico. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently, I am serving as a missionary for the LDS church. Before I chose to serve, I studied journalism and sociology. I write primarily on political and international topics. Besides writing, I enjoy playing soccer and traveling as much as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the gospel, but for most of my youth my family was inactive. As a result, I often felt out of place. As I grew older, I watched those around me take paths away from the gospel, and I was okay with that. But, watching my family fall away was so hard. I love my family, and I know that through the gospel, that families can be forever. I know, that is what I wanted for my family. So I made the conscious decision to realign myself with the church, and to learn all I can about it, and other religions as well. This simple decision I have made, has had such an impact on my life. Through the scriptures, and the words of our modern-day prophets, I have been able to make so many important decisions in my life. With the guidance I have been so blessed, in knowing that my life is on a good path. I know that the church is true, and that families can be together forever. There is so much love and happiness to be found in the gospel, all you have to do is look for it. I know the Book of Mormon truly is the word of God. And I know wonderful things will come to pass in my life, because of the church, and for that I am truly grateful.

How I live my faith

I try the best I can to show my faith through my character. One of the best ways to do this in my mind, is to help others. Helping others can be as simple as tutoring, being a friend, or simply being kind to someone else. I think it's so important for church members to serve those around each other with love. Love and charity are so fundamental to faith. Before my mission I served to help the women in my ward, in our women's organization called 'Relief Society'. In Relief Society we do our best to serve ladies by visiting them, helping in any way possible, providing activities for them, and being their friends. Currently, as serving as a missionary, I spend each day trying to spread that same kind of charity to the people of Mexico.
