Hi I'm Roger

I have lived my life in Alberta, Canada. I have been an educator my entire adult life. I am a father of eight. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I spent 35 years as an educator and coach. I have eight children and 30 grandchildren. I have been retired for 7 years, love to to be involved in high school athletics, and play golf as often as I can. I like to tinker on my yard and visit with family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day-Saints and it’s principles and doctrines speak truth to my mind and to my heart. I enjoy reading about these foundational pieces of the gospel and studying them has brought peace and joy into my life. The words in the Book of Mormon have given me a soulful knowledge of God’s doctrines and an intellectual faith in His words. The gospel principles and doctrines bring direction into my earthly life and hope into my eternal future. The gospel has given me the knowledge that God lives, He loves me, He cares for me, and He is always near me. I have felt His presence near me as I serve Him and I have felt Him hold me up through my trials. Gospel principles have given me the knowledge that I have a Savior that has prepared the way for me to find happiness in this life; and a plan for me to live with my loved ones in the eternities. I am a member of the Mormon church because it brings peace into my life each day and hope for eternal joy.

How I live my faith

I have spent time as a councilman on our town council and I am presently serving on a town committee. I have coached basketball and football for 25 years. I have most recently served as a primary teacher for a CTR 4 class and as a Sunday School teacher for 14-15 year olds. It has been wonderful to fulfill these stewardship’s with my wife. Fourty eight years ago I served a mission in West Australia and will be returning to Australia with my wife to serve a self-reliance mission.
