Hi I'm Emma

I am learning Mandarin Chinese to serve a mission. I love swimming, art, interior design and architecture. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoyed doing art and being on the swim team as I grew up, but in my middle school and high school years I began having health difficulties that kept me from doing what I normally enjoyed. My dreams of being a top student, attending a good collage to study architecture and design, and having a good career diminished with time. However, in the past year I have been able to receive a more effective treatment thus allowing me to be in a stable place where I can serve a mission and future hopes are becoming more and more real. I've been slowly taking back my hobbies and enjoyments. I love anything and everything in and surrounding water. I love the warmth and sunshine. I love when those around me are happy and I do my best to be loving and kind to everyone I come into contact with. I love my family. I love the LDS religion, and I'm proud to be a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is what feels right to me. All the teachings, principles, and standards of the Gospel are what I personally hold to be true. If I wasn't a Mormon, I think I'd still hold myself to the same standards. Being a member of the LDS church also brings me the most joy. There was a time in my life where I became less active, being overcome by my trials. When I wasn't involved with the church and living its teachings I was in more misery and pain. I was in darkness. I only see this now looking back at those times, and I'm glad I'm able to realize this. So in all plainness, I am a Mormon because I gives me the most joy in my life.

How I live my faith

The main way I live my faith is by being an example to others. I live in accordance to the principles my religion teaches and have great joy in that. I do my best to be Christlike; having charity, kindness, compassion, patience, perseverance, etc. When I fall short, I strive to correct my errors and improve. I am going on a mission which I've decided because of my faith in my religion.
