Hi I'm Mariah

I love being outside in nature! I love animals. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am from a small country town in Texas. The middle child of 5. I love being outside in any weather condition whether hiking, reading a good book or trying something new. I read and dance when I can. Sing and play my guitar often. I always have a smile on my face or a laugh waiting to come out. I sang in a choir for a few years as a kid and was able to travel. After high school I decided to take some time to give back to others. I lived in Mexico for a few months and taught children English as a volunteer. I am now a college student getting a degree in Agriculture so I can be outside even more!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. I have always had the gospel in my home but I have my own conversion story just like anyone else. I remember the first time I really knew that the church was true. I was fairly young but old enough to know that there was an accident with my baby sister involved. We rushed to the hospital and found out that my little sister had a severe injury to her skull. There was blood that had made it's way into her brain and if they didn't act quickly with a surgery she could be seriously harmed or even pass away. Even with this news my mother refused to let them take her away until my father could get there to give her a blessing. After the blessing was given she was taken back. They returned rather quickly with knews that the blood was gone. She was healed without the need for surgery. Now many will call that a misunderstanding or coincidence but I know better. Prayer and the power of the priesthood healed my little sister. Obviously my conversion is a lot more than this one experience but I knew that from this miracle I could not deny the power of the priesthood. If I couldn't deny the preisthood then I had to admit that the church was true. If the church was true then Joseph Smith really had restored the Gospel to the Earth. From that time on I chose to be a member of His true church.

How I live my faith

I go to church every week on Sunday and even Wednesday nights. I do my best to follow every commandment given by the Prophets of our church and when I don't understand something, I ask questions. Overall I have faith.
