Hi I'm Sam

Native Nebraskan. Aspiring Athlete and Inquisitive Student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Aspiring full time missionary. I am a college student. I enjoy triathlons, basketball, and other athletics. I love spending time with my family and friends. I am trying to remember and follow Jesus Christ and improve myself each day.

Why I am a Mormon

To illustrate my feelings for my membership in the church, I will share my some of my feelings on being called to serve in Asia: I joyfully accept my call to serve. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have been given. I cannot fully express in words how I feel. However, I can with a surety say I felt the confirmation and blessing of the Holy Ghost after receiving my call. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. They are truly so good to me. I look forward to declaring the truths of the restored gospel to the people on this mission, to "invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end." I know that trials and difficulties will come on my mission. I will look to the Lord for strength and guidance when these challenges occur. I am blessed to be armed with the Book of Mormon, the true and everlasting evidence of God's own work on the earth. I am grateful for my testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith and look forward to sharing the goodness that has come into my life because of our Father's wonderful Plan of Happiness. I hope to serve and love in all I do on my mission. I hope that in completely leaving myself behind, I can become a more Christ-like person and serve my Lord in a way that is pleasing to Him. I want to give my complete best, to grow in light and share that light with others. Finally, I would just express that I am full of gratitude for the knowledge that our Church is led by Jesus Christ, who speaks through modern-day prophets, seers and revelators. I know that Russell M. Nelson is a prophet, called by God. I know that this is the one and only true church. It is the way to happiness and joy in this life and into eternity. I look forward to giving my all to the people I serve and to my God. With Him, anything is possible.

How I live my faith

I serve as a Family night leader over a group of college students. I love singing in the church choir and playing piano for meetings when asked. I enjoy serving others. I was recently called to serve as a full-time missionary.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Sam
Joseph Smith was a man. He was just like anyone else; he made mistakes and had flaws. But, he was chosen by God to restore Christ's organization. He communicated with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He translated the Book of Mormon. He received revelations and led the early members of the church in the way Heavenly Father desired. All this...and at the end of the day, he still hit the hay. He was a flawed man trying to do what God desired. Which is all I want to do. I love and am grateful for the example of the Prophet Joseph Smith and all he did to restore this great work on earth. Show more Show less
