Hi I'm Emily

My life has been immensely blessed because of my faith in God and in His son, Jesus Christ. I am proud to be a Mormon!

About Me

I am a mom of two sweet boys. I love and cherish every waking moment with them. They are my greatest creations. I have been married to my husband for almost seven years. He is my favorite person, my truest friend and my deepest love. My life would not be as blessed as it is without my membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love to spend time in the mountains where I feel closest to God. I also enjoy cooking and learning new recipes. I recently worked in human resources and enjoyed it very much. I have a German Shepherd and two cats. My husband and I just bought our first single family home where we are living our busy, happy, challenging, exhausting life!

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon! I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my entire life, but it takes a lifetime to learn and live the gospel. My testimony has deepened as I've gotten older and experienced joy and trials. I know that God lives and that His son, Jesus Christ, is my Savior. He knows my sorrow, my depression, my discouragement, my happiness, my love, my hurt, my heart. Nothing brings me more peace than my knowledge of God and His plan for me. The life I live was designed by Him. He loves me. I know that because He sent His son to die for me. As a parent I experience inexplicable joy and sorrow which helps me relate to my Heavenly Father. My mom has taught me that the best way to know if something is true is to act in faith believing that God will help me. As I've done this in life and pushed forward into the fog, I've come out into a clearing of understanding and confirmation that God is there. He knows me and all the things I've learned about His church are true and good and eternal.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in seemingly small ways by praying each day and teaching my son to pray. My husband and I attempt to have designated family time where we can bring the Spirit into our home. Each Sunday we attend church and then get together with family for dinner. Oftentimes discussions of gospel topics arise and we enjoy sharing bits of our testimony with one another. We ask for God's help when we struggle financially or are faced with trial or decisions. I recently had surgery and I was able to receive a blessing from my husband to comfort me beforehand. I am currently attending institute which is a religious class for college aged students. We are learning about Jesus Christ right now and I am really enjoying the class (and learning so much!).

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Emily
When I took a human biology class in college I was fascinated by the details and structures of the human body. It was incredible to understand the way cells work together to create our bodies and all the workings inside. I feel that same sense of wonder and awe when I am in the mountains and look over the view. Every day after class I would come home and watch Planet Earth, a documentary about the plants and animals on the planet and their absolutely fascinating relationships with one another. As a mom I've had the extreme privilege of giving birth to two boys. The moments they entered this world are indescribable. Every single one of these experiences has solidified my belief in God. All of these intricate, good, wonderful and downright miraculous things (our bodies, the planet, life) came from a divine Creator. Show more Show less
