Hi I'm Madi

I spent a semester teaching English in China and I want to teach around the world. I will serve a mission in Taiwan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children, and the only girl. I have a passion for good music, gourmet food, and beautiful books. When I was eight, I road tripped 12 hrs to Seattle with my dad and fell in love with the city and the excitement of new places. Since then I have taken every opportunity to travel and interact with people around the world. Last year I finished my second year of college, studying English ED and TESOL, and visited three new countries(Canada, Colombia, and China). When I'm not studying or reading, I'm usually running, cooking, or spending time with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in an active LDS family, but I still had to go through my own personal conversion process. When I was 16, I decided that I needed to figure out if I really believed the church was true. I had read the Book of Mormon a few times, but never with that specific and strong purpose. As I read, the Spirit softly, yet clearly, testified of its truth. From that moment on my testimony has grown and helped me solidify my identity. There have been and always will be, phases of struggle and distance from God, but

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making it a priority to attend my meetings each week and prepare carefully. On Saturday nights I go to bed at a reasonable time so that I can be alert the following day. I listen to reverent hymns or conference talks as I get ready for church, and I spend free time with loved ones. In addition to faithfully attending my meetings, I strive to fulfill my church callings. During my time in YSA wards I have served as family history consultant, FHE group leader, and Relief Society First Counselor. Each of these has given me the opportunity to develop a deeper love for the Savior and His people as I have put forth my best effort.
