Hi I'm Lydia

I'm from the UK and I love food, music, and history! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest of 6 children and I have grown up in the south of England my entire life. I would spend a lot of time cooking and spending time with family as a young child. At school, I became passionate about English, History and Sociology/ Psychology. I am currently preparing to serve a mission and when I return I hope to study English and History at university and dream of living in America. I'm excited to see where my life takes me!

Why I am a Mormon

There is nothing that brings me greater peace and understanding in my life than the gospel of Jesus Christ. It remains a rock in my life through all the challenges I have faced and continue to face. The Book of Mormon teaches me so much and I never cease to be amazed at how much I can learn about myself, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ through reading it. The commandments God gives to his children have blessed me so much through living them and I continue to be inspired through the words of modern day prophets who give guidance specific to our time which shows me again how much God loves all his children. I see the hand of God in my life from day to day and I have complete trust that He has a plan for me which can bring me more happiness than I could create on my own. The teachings of the gospel found in the Book of Mormon bring me joy and peace in a turbulent world.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is something I work at on a daily basis! Following the teachings of Jesus Christ reminds me to show more love to strangers and friends alike, by smiling, or saying hello, and always reassuring others that I am there to help. I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had to help others through my church responsibilities, including organising activities for the women and helping to foster unity throughout the ward. I continue to strive to look for opportunities to serve others, as well as my family members who I can support and uplift through difficult times. Living the gospel influences me to stay calm and keep a good perspective when things aren't going well for me or my family, and allows me to feel peace and trust in God's plan for me. I always try to remember that trials in my life give me the chance to learn and grow and so I live my faith by keeping a positive attitude and looking for the good no matter what happens.
