Hi I'm Ashlee Smart

I'm from Meridian, Idaho and will be serving a mission in North Carolina soon. I love this church and my Savior!

About Me

I absolutely love music and have played piano and sang since I was eight years old. My parents have taught me to work hard, so I have had many jobs throughout high school. I worked as a piano teacher to students in my ward and neighborhood, a home health care CNA, and a service worker for a sweet special needs girl. I will be paying for my full-time mission. I have four younger brothers, including a twin who is currently serving in Florida. He is one of my best friends. I completed a semester of college last year at BYU Idaho. Learning new things is so important to me. I love all sports, especially basketball. I played for a few years and was lucky to sometimes have my dad as my coach. I also ran cross country in high school my last three years. This was very difficult work, but my last year I made the traveling team and made amazing friends. I love getting to know others and being involved in many activities. I'm also pretty easy going!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church and have been raised my whole life by my parents. I haven't known anything different than this religion, but I continue to live it since I love it. I have had questions and even doubts sometimes, but these haven't stopped me from continuing to believe and keep my faith. We have to remember to think back on our spiritual moments and the witness we have had that everything we have been taught is true. I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ and am so grateful for what He has sacrificed and done for the world. For me personally. Also, serving people brings me a ton of happiness and that is what the gospel of Jesus Christ is meant to do! I am a Mormon because of all the peace it brings my soul. The knowledge I have gained is very helpful and has guiding my life. The promises we receive if we live righteously cannot be passed up (in my opinion). The number of times I have felt the Spirit is countless. I could feel it over and over and never get tired of it, it is so special and comforting. I love being a Mormon!!

How I live my faith

My current calling is teaching Sunday school to the 15 year old class. It has been really good preparation for a mission. In the past I have been in my young women's class presidency as well as the ward organist. I am a seminary graduate, and loved everything I learned through it. I try to share my faith with those around me and try to be the best example and follower of Jesus Christ that I can be. I have taken many classes that teach about the LDS church and they have brought so much light, knowledge, and joy into my life. I love sharing my beliefs with others and hope to continue doing so.
