Hi I'm Debbie

I am a mom and grandma, and recently retired from 16 years as an Assistant Store Manager at Deseret Industries. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have recently retired as Assistant Store Manager of Deseret Industries for 16 years. I am a mom of 5 children, two of which have passed on due to Cystic Fibrosis. I have 3 grandchildren. I have been married for 37 years. I am leaving for a mission with my husband in a few days in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to follow His gospel because brings me such happiness and peace. I have lost 2 children to Cystic Fibrosis, and found acceptance and peace from Christ's atonement. Through the Comforter I know that Heidi and Ryan are well and no longer suffer from disease. I will see them again. I am so grateful that families are forever. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know it is true, because the Spirit has testified it to me. I love the Book of Mormon and the truths it holds. I feel the Spirit when I read it, and it blesses my life. Many of my life questions have been answered in its verses. I have received many blessings from my membership in the church. Paying tithing is an honor for me, and it is the first thing I pay each month. The blessings have been incredible. The Lord has given me everything, so 10% doesn't seem like much to give Him back. I can't imagine living my life without the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Savior has been there to help me through the trials of life with His atonement. I have felt peace through the Comforter when I lost my 2 children to Cystic Fibrosis. I am grateful for the knowledge that families are forever. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am grateful for my ward family, and the love they show me. I know the gospel teachings and principles are true. The temple is the most sacred place on earth, and I feel God's presence while serving there.

How I live my faith

I have been as a teacher of youth for most of my adult life. I love the youth!! They are so eager to learn things that will make their life full of happiness and peace. I have also been the president of our women's organization. I organized social events, visited the sick and lonely, and taught many lessons of spiritual importance to the sisters. I have made many close friends as I have mingled with these wonderful women over the years. I have also assisted as a counselor and teacher for the children in our church. I taught the 8 year olds for 5 years, and marveled at their testimonies at such a young age. I have loved my church service over the years.
