Hi I'm Kerry Christine Angelbuer

I am a scientist with a PH. D. in psychology. I love my husband of 30 years and my eight beautiful children. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Life is good for me right now. My children are growing up and not longer running in needy little circles around me. I have my first missionary out, serving in the Southern States like so many missionaries in my extended family. I love letters from my missionary! It is a great profession to be the support person for the varied people in my family. I am the volunteer soccer coach of my daughter's soccer team and make sure my son who burns the candle at both ends eats as he runs out the door at 6 AM. Love, acceptance and good food are good daily goals. I have a blog that educates people on my daughter's genetic disorder, Neurofibromatosis. It brings me a lot of satisfaction to see my views go up as I strive to help people worldwide cope with this difficult diagnosis. I beleive in nourishing the body and mind and teach a yoga class at the local church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born under the covenant. This means that my parent's marriage was sealed in the Lord's house or temple. I am sealed to my family in this life and the next. I wanted the same blessing for my own children so I chose a man who had a strong belief in God and His church here on the Earth. I firmly believe that there is no better way to find happiness in this life or in the life to come than by entering into the Lord's path by being baptized by immersion by those with authority given from God. This authority is only available in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This authority was lost from the church that Christ established during His mortal life. The apostasy was long and many gospel truths and authority were lost. God still loves His present day children, though, so He restored the authority and knowledge that was lost. A prophet once again speaks for God. Through restored priesthood authority members can have priceless gifts that empower them to move toward a glorious exaltation in God's kingdom. One of these gifts is the constant presence of the Holy Ghost which is giving by the laying on of hands following baptism. This priceless gift can comfort us, protect us and lead us to the knowledge we all need to progress along our unique life journey. It is a comfort that Jesus Christ is beside me adding His grace to my efforts so that I can overcome the trials of this Earth and look forward to the joys of heaven.

How I live my faith

My favorite job in the church is to teach the children music. It is always fun and is a powerful way to bring home eternal truths like Heavenly Father loves all His children. I also sing with my family when they are willing and insist on family scripture time most days. It takes us a good while to read through our beloved Book of Mormon. I am currently leading the whole congregation of my church in music. It is great fun singing out to the last row and trying to keep the whole group singing together. Sometimes it feels like you are trying to move a huge boat with a tiny rudder, but then the beautiful messages of the hymns will enter your heart and the effort is worth it. I also love to listen to sacred music at home. Nothing is better to put you in a good frame of mind to meet the demands of each day. I love the ac'capella groups at BYU like vocal point and Noteworthy. The Piano Guys singing the fight song can energize the soul.
