Hi I'm Alyson

I am from Salt Lake City, Utah. I am a full-time missionary and a representative of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning and I am working to complete my Bachelor's Degree as I prepare to apply for medical school. I work in a Neonatal ICU and I love caring for newborns! I love music and I play the piano and the violin.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of the peace and joy that it brings into my life! The principles and commandments that God has revealed through His living prophets have helped me to make positive changes in my life so that I can be happier than I have ever been before. I am grateful for the knowledge that because Jesus Christ lives, I can live forever with my family and that we will always be together. I am also grateful to know that because Jesus Christ suffered and died for me, I can be forgiven of my sins whenever I mess up, and it is just like I had never made a mistake at all. I can feel God's love for me every single day and that is the source of my joy. Because I know that I have a loving Father in Heaven and because I know He has a perfect plan for me happy, I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve the people in my church through music, especially by playing the piano in various settings. Currently, I have the opportunity to serve by teaching the adults during our Sunday Meetings. I love hearing their perspectives on the gospel as we all learn together!

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is knowledge that we receive from the Spirit of God that tells us that principles of the gospel are true. It is the understanding that we are children of a real, living, loving Heavenly Father and that He directs His one true church through living prophets. It is the understanding that He gave His only son, Jesus Christ, whom He loved very much, so that we can each be forgiven of our sins and return to live with our Father in Heaven again. It is the understanding that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it was translated by the prophet Joseph Smith. It is everything that we know and believe about God and our relationship with Him.
