Hi I'm Chris

I was born in Tonga, grew up in Utah, and will be returning to Tonga for a full-time mission. I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old, and I am of Tongan, Maori, and Chinese descent. I was born in Tonga, but soon after my family and I moved to Hawaii where I spent most of my childhood. In 2009 we moved to Utah, where we have lived since. I played rugby and football in high school. After I graduated in 2016, I attended BYU-Provo for two semesters. I am currently preparing to serve a full-time mission in the Tonga Nuku’alofa mission. I report to the Provo MTC on February 21st.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church I think it was easy to take the gospel for granted and to go through the motions. It was only recently where I learned that this truly is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that through the infinite Atonement of Jesus Christ, all of our sins can be forgiven, our weaknesses made strengths, and our wounds healed. I know that we have prophets today that guide us and strengthen us during these hectic times. I know that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God, and is complementary to the Bible. The Book of Mormon was written by ancient prophets, and translated by the prophet Joseph Smith for all of us in these latter days. This gospel has blessed my life and the lives of so many others in countless ways, and I am so grateful to have it in my life. I am very excited to share the gospel with my brothers and sisters around the world.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a secretary in the Sunday School Presidency, where we organize and teach classes that all the members attend. I am also a home teacher, where me and another one of my brethren in the ward visit, teach, and serve other members of the ward. As I prepare to serve a mission, I try to look for ways to serve those around me, as well as opportunities to share my testimony.
