Hi I'm Bob

I was born in Seattle, Washington, but grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah.

About Me

I am a husband and father. I am a retired Navy Master Chief and have lived in and visited many parts of the world. I love outdoor adventures, nature, photography and travel. I am a certified scuba diver, licensed pilot and I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into the Church, I still needed to gain a testimony that the Church is true, just like everybody else. I gained that testimony through reading and studying the Book of Mormon and praying for a witness of its truthfulness. The Holy Ghost has born witness to me that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, the Church he established is the Lord Church on the Earth, and that there is a prophet on the earth today to guide his children. I know that the power to act is God’s name, the Priesthood, was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith, including the authority to seal husband and wife for time and all eternity. My wife passed away several years ago. The knowledge that we were married for eternity brought great comfort to me and helped me get through those dark days immediately after her death. As I look at my life I can honestly say that the joy I experience and the blessing I enjoy are directly or indirectly linked to my membership in the Church and my strivings to follow the teachers of the Savior.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving those around me. The Church gives me opportunities to teach the Gospel and to serve those in need. Whether it is helping someone move, visiting the sick, visiting the elderly or feeding the hungry, the Church helps me to remain focused on the teachings of Christ and to emulate his example of service.
