Hi I'm Val Douroux

Anti-Mormon turned Mormon Filmmaker living in Los Angeles, CA.

About Me

Hi! I'm Valerie Douroux Schultz. I grew up in California and moved to Salt Lake City at the age of 8. On my first day of school in Utah, I was told I was going to h*ll because I wasn't a Mormon and I grew up with a chip on my shoulder towards the church until the age of 25. I'm grateful I could have a change of heart about the church and witness the benefits that believing in this gospel brings.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel peace when I listen to the messages of prophets past and present. In an world of ever-increasing darkness, we need to the light to shine and there's no greater way to increase your inner-light that through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I start the day off with a prayer thanking God to be alive another day. Then, I read from the Bible and Book of Mormon. If I'm in a rush, I like to go on lds.org and YouTube and listen to the Christ-inspired messages during my morning commute. It always starts the day of right. I'm currently serving as a ward missionary. It's the perfect calling for me at this point in my life. It involves talking to people who are interested in drawing closer to the light of Christ.
