Hi I'm Kate

I live and play on the Oregon Coast. I love surfing and cliff jumping. I relish time with family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a college student and a Personal Support Worker for the most amazing special needs girl in the world. I admire and love her so much. My favorite things are adventures, dancing, deep laughter, dark chocolate, bonfires and playing my violin. I love both dressing up and roughing it. I thrive on high adventure outings and enjoy solving problems. Camping, exploring, snowboarding, blazing trails, and practicing survival skills makes me happy. My dream is to be an occupational therapist and establish an equine therapy ranch. If I can’t do that, I'd want to be the Avatar and master all four elements. I am anxiously awaiting my mission call and can't wait to serve with all my heart. I am so grateful for my family and their love for me. I have a great respect and love for my parents, grandparents and their examples to me. Service, scripture study, prayer, and going to church brings me true joy. Above all, I love my Savior, Jesus Christ and can’t express how grateful I am for His love, His teachings and His atoning grace.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have been increasingly converted with each step I’ve made to ask of God and practice what I’ve been taught. Recently, I was blessed to stand in the same sacred grove of trees that the boy, Joseph Smith knelt in. I know, without a doubt, that Christ has restored His gospel here upon the earth again, through the prophet Joseph Smith. Joseph translated The Book of Mormon, through the power of God. The Book of Mormon is an ancient and sacred record. It is another testament of Jesus Christ and adds to the Bible. Through pondering this book daily, I have come closer to Christ and felt the magnitude and gratitude of His atonement and His gospel. As I read this wonderful book, I feel The Spirit come into my life. I feel a greater desire to continually abound in good works and serve God with my all. I have prayed and asked God to bless me with a confirmation that the book is true. As I did so, I felt The Spirit beautifully and powerfully testify to me that the Book of Mormon is true. I love how I can read The Book of Mormon and find answers to my questions. God wants to help and guide us in our lives. The Book of Mormon is a tool for us to use to come closer to Christ and God. I know that this church is true and that Jesus Christ is at the head. President Russell M. Nelson is Gods prophet on the earth today. I so testify, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

They haven’t kicked me out yet, so I still enjoy singing in our Sunday choir. I usually help out with girl’s camp in the summer, it’s every ones highlight and a pleasure to be a part of. We work long hard days, sleep in tents, have powerful testimony building experiences and have the time of our lives. I’m a visiting teacher, which means once a month, I check in and offer service to a few women in our church. My faith is woven into me. Every day I strive to be like my Savior, Jesus Christ. I endeavor to be kind, selfless, loving, and serve whenever and wherever I can. My current assignment in my ward is teaching the young women and helping them complete their Personal Progress Program. These young women of the church are amazing and try to be so good each day. I love the inspired theme that they recite every Sunday. We stand up and say together, “WE ARE DAUGHTERS of our Heavenly Father, who loves us, and we love Him. WE WILL “STAND as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places” (Mosiah 18:9) as we strive to live the Young Women values, which are: Faith • Divine Nature • Individual Worth • Knowledge • Choice and Accountability • Good Works • Integrity • and Virtue. WE BELIEVE as we come to accept and act upon these values, WE WILL BE PREPARED to strengthen home and family, make and keep sacred covenants, receive the ordinances of the temple, and enjoy the blessings of exaltation.” I just love standing with these girls and reciting this theme. I have been so grateful to graduate from such an edifying program and now help others with their journey through it too. It truly has helped me too see how much our Heavenly Father and Savior love us. It has helped me realize who I am and who I can become.
