Hi I'm Jaida

I am from O'ahu, Hawai'i. I am a photographer, yoga instructor, diver, tree hugger, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Arizona and grew up in Montana, Utah, and Hawai'i. I spend my time freediving, hiking, taking photos, traveling, and surfing. I recently became a certified yoga instructor so now I teach in my free time. I love to listen to and play music. I play the guitar, the cello, ukulele, and a little piano. I am an ambassador and activist for wildlife conservation and try to do my part to help out our planet. I recently got my mission call to California. I leave in January and I'm super stoked!

Why I am a Mormon

For me, I think that the purpose of living is to show love to others and serve them, and later this love will come back to us. Like karma I guess. The Mormon church teaches us to serve and love everyone and everything because that's how Christ lived, and we are supposed to follow in his footsteps. So, Im a Mormon because I believe in loving and serving all things that we can and the Mormon church teaches that if we do this then we will be saved.

How I live my faith

My calling in church right now is I take care of a little boy with autism while his family attends the church meetings. I sit with him in his class and help him try to pay attention to the lessons. Even though it gets pretty rough sometimes I love helping and serving. It helps me share the love of christ to people. I have also helped to teach some of the youth's classes. My mom is a teacher for the young women and I often help her plan her lessons or teach when she can't do it that week.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mormons believe that the Bible is the word of God as long as it is translated correctly. Throughout the years, the Bible has been passed down and key words and stories have been changed in the process of translation. We believe that the correct translation of the Bible is the true word of God aND goes hand in hand with the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
