Hi I'm Scott Wilson

I'm a Mormon... I am a single 32 year old young adult, never married, working in global stocks at an Investment Banking Company.

About Me

I wanted to share my situation because I know there are a lot of other young adults out there who have yet to be married and have kids. And frankly, I am ok with that. Of course I would like to soon. I work in stocks and finance, love watching and playing sports, working out, lifting weights, singing, piano, saxaphone, speaking German, road trips, travel, scenic drives, laughing, eating out, and spending time with loved ones. I love being outdoors in nature and appreciating the contemplative settings to think about the greatest things in life. I've had some interesting things happen in my life due to the poor decisions of others that has affected me and my family in many different ways. I have also made some poor decisions from time to time that I am responsible for. I try to use these as learning experiences and be a little better than yesterday. I hope young single adults can read my profile and stop beating themselves up for every little thing, but maybe just focus a little more on the things in life that matter most and that will last. Clearing out all the distractions and fluff will make life less stressful and help you keep your focus on what really matters the most.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because at the end of the day there is only one lasting solution to life's struggle for peace and joy and lasting fulfillment... and that is through the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is the way, truth, and life. He gives us clarity, understanding, direction, and peace as we wander through the wilderness of life seeking our purpose and trying to find our place. The Book of Mormon has an intangible power that pierces my heart and soul. I feel empowered, enlightened, filled with love, and receive answers to life's questions and trials as I study and pray about the Book of Mormon. I have studied other faiths and learned their doctrines. I have spent countless hours with people of other faiths. I commend all who seek to follow God and His counsel. However, with all the confusion in the world today and different faiths teaching conflicting doctrines, our Heavenly Father has shown His great love for us today and provided us with modern-day prophets, like in days of old, and He has confirmed that through the Book of Mormon. This book has shown me that God lives, reveals truth today, gives clarity of doctrine, and helps us today with life's trials, just as He has always done throughout history. The Book of Mormon is the evidence of such blessings and ultimately testifies of the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ. He is the only way to lasting peace and happiness in our life on earth and in the days beyond this mortal place. The Book of Mormon is so important because it shows God's continued guidance today, His love for all people, and it serves as another Testament of Jesus Christ, standing side by side with the Bible, not replacing it. For those who have wondered about Christ's role on earth and the validity of the scriptures, both of these records provide ample experiences of prophets and their teachings and experiences with Christ and about Christ and His gospel. You can know the truth of these things for yourself as well. Prayer and Study is key

How I live my faith

I enjoy my assignments at Church to teach the gospel to large classes and also direct the brethren in our meetings as one of the leaders. I draw incredible insight, confidence, strength, comfort, and guidance from the Scriptures. They are powerful in ways that words can't explain. The only way to truly feel and know this is by trying to learn God's words yourself. This is a personal study effort, included with prayer, that will help you learn great things about who you are, your relationship with God, and how to strengthen it to guide you in you life in all things. When you study and ponder about the scriptures you open a lifeline to greater faith and communication through insight and revelation from God. He will fill your thoughts with answers to questions, sustain you in all of you doings in life, give you comfort, and help you make it through the trials of life that so heavily can feel heaped upon us from time to time. Your life will be more fulfilled by drawing closer to God and Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. The scriptures teach you how to accomplish this and we have opportunities to learn how to at Church as well.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?
