Hi I'm Joshua

I'm a writer, I'm a singer, I'm a volleyball player, I'm a son, I'm a brother, I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Since fourth grade I've been writing stories and poems and love the English language and how words affect us. Growing up in a small town in Idaho has presented a multitude of experiences, from learning about the world in run-down classes to finally getting ready to go live in it and wishing I had more time driving familiar streets. My dad used to catch tadpoles with us at the park and we'd raise them in the backyard. Really I'm just your naive, wants-to-live-a-full-life, curious teenager ready to embark on a journey to discover myself, or more, who my Heavenly Father wishes me to be.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know this is the truth. I've tested and tried and wished against even, but throughout it all the undying fact remains: this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ restored to the earth in our time. I know it because I see the works of my Heavenly Father all around me, and I pray everyday for the strength to live it.

How I live my faith

I've had plenty of time in presidencies and will soon be a missionary, but I live my faith the same way everyone does: one choice at a time. I live my faith when I turn to my Heavenly Father for guidance or aid or gratitude. I live my faith when I serve others around me. I live my faith when I ponder the scriptures and what they mean to me. I live my faith when I venture far beyond me home, praying for protection and blessings to do the work God would have me do. I live my faith by being me, and by relying on the Atonement of my Savior.

What are Mormon temples used for?

Joshua
Temples are the houses of the Lord here on the earth, and in them we get the closest possible in mortality to what life with our Heavenly Father is like. We learn of eternal, sacred truths, make covenants and perform ordinances for ourselves and our ancestors, and get the opportunity to be sealed as families for all eternity. Show more Show less
